After many months of delays, Marcona, the East Coast-inspired sandwich shop under the control of Collier Ulrich and chef Matthew Moss (Crofton on Wells, Butter - Chicago) will finally start serving sandwiches on March 20. Do note that this is a counter service spot that serves classic East Coast “deli” fare with Mediterranean influences and seasonal ingredients. So eats will change based on produce availability. Think a Merguez sausage-filled Spanish Gyro; Bodega with bacon, fried egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll; and for the vegans a meatloaf sandwich called V.B.Q.
In addition to sandwiches one will also find salads, sides, pickles, and desserts crafted by pastry chef Janna Leone (Telepan - NYC).
Hours of operation run Tuesday to Friday 11:30AM to 7PM, Saturday and Sunday 11AM to 5PM. Weekend brunch to follow in the spring.
