Clifton's Cafeteria Construction Commences Wednesday

New, 8 comments

On Wednesday, Clifton's Cafeteria owner Andrew Meieran plans to reveal the historic diner's original facade and work will finally begin on that revitalization.

The Hollywood Reporter shares some updates on the new dining concepts to come. Meieran says that he will add "a salad bar concept focused on organic products and sustainable farming" to the revamped cafeteria-style ground floor dining room. And as for that upstairs lounge, the unnamed venue will manifest itself as a 3,000-square-foot "mixology-oriented tiki bar on the third floor of the building" to open in about a year and inspired by this.

In other Clifton's news, Meieran, who also works as a Director/Producer, was recently in South American location scouting for an upcoming film. While in Argentina he scored vintage restaurant equipment for Clifton's that he describes as "disgustingly cool."
