Eater first speculated that San Diego would score its very own Katsuya outpost back in August, so we figured it was time to check in and see what's the happ. It appears that construction is well underway at the Andaz Hotel in downtown San Diego, and if all goes as planned sbe hopes to softly open around February 21 with a grand launch celebration sometime in early March. By the looks of it, the S+ark infused spaced will be multi-level and supposedly Dan Saito has been tapped to helm the kitchen. Though he has worked as a restaurant consultant for the past couple years, he honed his chops at the Four Seasons Lanai and Julian Serrano’s Masa in San Francisco.
