Good news for fans of Ado, Venice's two and a half year-old quaint, rustic Italian haunt on Main Street in Venice. Over the past few weeks owner Paolo Cesaro, who also runs 31 Ten in Santa Monica, has been readying the old 12 Washington space for a relaxed Italian spinoff, larger and less pretentious than Ado, appropriately titled Casa Ado. Chef and partner Antonio Mure, also of Ado and 31 Ten, plans to finish his menu this evening in preparation for tomorrow's opening day. Unlike Ado, no white tablecloths here. Just simple, standard table dressings. A napkin. Silverware. A glass. White walls, basic wooden chairs, and oscillating ceiling fans help spread the Venice breeze.
