Come September, if you can't get into Son of Gun, here's one more chef-driven seafood option. Last fall came word that Michael Cimarusti of Providence splendor and Craig Nickoloff, founder of the Claim Jumper chain, had merged to overtake West Hollywood's Silver Spoon diner and launch a new dining concept under the name Connie & Ted's. Here now a bit more intel. The eatery was named after Cimarusti's grandparents and will serve as a casual neighborhood seafood restaurant (remember Cimarusti did once work at Water Grill and Providence is known for its aquatic offerings). Think Providence but less shmancy with reasonably priced plates, so dinner here won't cost you a whole paycheck. No tasting menu but full bar and later hours of operation.
