Figat7th is that outdoor mall located downtown on Figueroa between 7th and 8th currently undergoing a fancypants $40-million facelift by Brookfield Office Properties. Today a release announces the first round of "gourmet concepts" slated to open this fall within the 25,000 square-foot courtyard level dining area. And oh my my, a stellar lineup so far. En route is Juicy Lucy, a burger spot from chef Paul Shoemaker named after the signature “Juicy Lucy” cheeseburger served in his Malibu eatery, Savory. Jimmy Shaw brings a branch of popular Mexican staple Loteria Grill, meanwhile Craig Min expands LAMILL coffee cafe with partner Michael Mina. Park's BBQ owner Jenee Kim will debut Oleego by Park’s Barbeque, a traditional meets modern Korean spot, and the recently relocated Choppe Choppe launches its second casual salad haunt. Finally, chef Bhupender Singh, owner of Ambrosia in Monterrey, tests Indus, traditional Indian served in a contemporary space.
