According to an employee at the Culver City cafe, Native Foods, the vegan chain cheffed by Tanya Petrovna and first born in Palm Springs, will open its third Los Angeles outlet in Santa Monica this June. Construction has been underway at Ocean Park Courtyard on Ocean Park between 29th and 30th since early this year to transition the defunct Pizza Fusion into this next fast casual concept which will join Starbucks, The Counter, Il Forno Trattoria, Novel Cafe, among other eating establishments.
In additional Native Foods news, the original Palm Springs restaurant that closed in January for a remodel is still shuttered, so don't try and stop by during Coachella. Management only just started renovations, thus this location will remain down for the next few months. On the bright side, a new 10 year lease was signed. Also, Native Foods has made several bids on El Paseo to relocate the defunct Palm Desert eatery, but all deals have so far fallen through.
