Not only is Caffé Vita about to open its first NYC coffee bar, the Seattle staple is also well on its way to laying the foundation for a new Silver Lake outpost with construction crew expecting an April opening. The suitability-focused, farm-to-cup company started in Washington in 1995, and this Eastside LA shop (formerly occupied by eclectic clothing/knickknack seller Uncle Jers) will mark the 10th store in the mini-chain and its California debut.
The corridor to Sunset Junction is turning into a little slice of Northwest – Vita neighbors Rudy’s Barber Shop and Easy Street Records are also Seattle transplants. And once Caffé Vita opens, the shops have promised via blog post to become a hub for (caffeinated) creative events, artists, and music. [EaterWire]
