Famously Anonymous, Besha Rodell Takes Gold's Place as LA Weekly Food Critic

Today the LA Weekly finally revealed new plans and new hires for its Food Section after it let both Jonathan Gold and Elina Shatkin leave earlier this year. First, Garrett Snyder, just two years out of college, takes the food blogging critic's chair. Amy Scattergood, longtime Squid Ink editor, is now officially (finally) the editor of the LAW's Food Section. But the big news is that the alt-weekly has hired Atlanta's longtime food critic, Besha Rodell to replace Jonathan Gold. Actually, that's not possible, no one can "replace" Jonathan Gold. But Rodell (famous for remaining anonymous) will pen restaurant reviews for the print edition next to Anne Fishbein's vibrant photographs. Now if only there was a restaurant in LA notorious for outing a critic... [LAW]
