DOWNTOWN— Lazy Ox Canteen chef Perfecto Rocher is rolling out a new weekend brunch this coming Saturday from 10AM to 3PM. These are some of the newly added dishes: Spanish Tortilla Patata with tomato, honey aioli and side salad; Vanilla Biscuit with smoked salmon, slow cooked egg and hollaindaise; Slow-poached egg with mashed potato and mallorca sobrassada; and Compressed melon with Spanish ham, pickled onion and feta. BEVERLY HILLS— And speaking of brunch, the Hotel Bel-Air has added a three-course Sunday brunch at Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. The pricey affair costs $78 and includes a glass of Champagne and a choice of dishes like Old Fashioned Ricotta and Lemon Blintzes with Strawberry and Rhubarb Compote, French Sea Bass with Saffron Emulsion, and Corned Beef Hash Cakes Benedict with Poached Organic Eggs and Hollandaise. A creative new Bloody Mary menu is in place as well with drinks named The Bloody Carrot (carrot juice with horseradish-infused Ketel One Vodka and chili syrup) and The Bloody Maria (jalapeño, Chamucos Blanco Tequila, fresh basil). DOWNTOWN— On May 5 The Los Angeles Athletic Club is hosting its second annual Kentucky Derby viewing party. Barman Marcos Tello (1886) will be on hand crafting a slew of Whiskey and Bourbon based classic cocktails. Admission costs $30 for a buffet and complimentary Mint Julep. CULVER CITY— Before Royal/T closes up shop in August, the gallery/cafe is showing a new food-centric exhibit called The Art of Cooking. Food-inspired abstract paintings, digital prints, and food-related fashion will be on display starting April 27 through August 1. [EaterWire]
