Chef/owner Takayuki Morishita who shuttered Place Yuu earlier this year has moved on to open morinoya, a new izakaya joint serving as of April 12 on Sawtelle. Located in the former home of Yashima restaurant, Morishita and right-hand man Yasuo Rai (En Sushi) focus on yakitori, oden, sushi, sashimi, and hot pots available a la carte or omakase-style. Hours of operation run Sunday, Tuesday to Thursday 6-11PM, and Friday/Saturday 6PM to 1AM. Lunch service to come in a few months. [EaterWire]
