All About the Bread Expands, Beachy Cream Nearly Ready

New, 3 comments

Here we are once again with a rousing Plywood Report. See something coming along in your neighborhood? Tips and photos are welcome.

1) Melrose: Since T-Salon's shutter, that long side space near Melrose and La Brea has been in various states of empty. Now, word in that building owner and proprietor of All About the Bread, Albert Mizrahi, is looking to open a new, as yet unnamed, concept. Though Mizrahi has posted additional All About the Bread signage on that side of the building, the sandwich shop will not be expanding. Construction on the new concept has begun. [EaterWire]

2) Santa Monica: Restaurants in LA are always delayed. Usually this has to do with big kitchen equipment and liquor licenses. But now even an innocent ice cream shop has fallen victim to building inspection delays. Beachy Cream is behind schedule but, per the above photos, should open in the next month or so. Construction crews are nearly done painting the stripes and hanging the lights, and the girls are about to get their hair primped. [EaterWire]
