Although The Facebook (updated four days ago) and Twitter (last tweeted four days ago) convey no signs of a shutter, plastered to the window of James Couey and Mat Gries' four-month-old Batch Restaurant and Bar is a note, dated April 28, which reads as such:
"Thank you to all the regulars and supporters of Batch Restaurant and Bar. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be closed until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support and understanding."Since inception, there has been a fair amount of activity over at Batch. Chef Dan Moody staged a pop-up in February, lunch service initiated last month, and the restaurant's back patio was finished. So, what's the deal? Eater reached out to Couey who declined to comment on the situation at hand.
