Only just recently did ground finally break on Blue Plate Taco, that Mexican restaurant from the owners of Blue Plate and BP Oysterette, located on the ground floor of Santa Monica's new Shore Hotel. Up above, some renderings and idea boards which offer an example of what's to come, an eatery that designer Tim Clarke describes as "a modern space providing a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere." According to Craigslist Blue Plate Taco opens on July 4.
In other Shore Hotel news, just across the way is another vacant space in which management originally hoped to open a hotel bar. While this is currently unconfirmed and still an idea in development, Blue Plate is in talks to also launch BP Kitchenette. This bar and lounge MIGHT happen, but it's also possible that another operator could still step in to take over Shore Hotel's nightlife aspect.
