Three weeks ago York Boulevard's Hermosillo Club was sold to new owner Ross Stephenson and, according to Patch, Stephenson is planning to reinvent the Mexican dive as a craft beer-centric haunt akin to Ryan Sweeney's Verdugo in Glassell Park. Stephenson describes himself as a "beer hobbyist" and wants to convert Hermosillo Club into a more high end venue serving "higher quality wines" and local craft beer. Cosmetically, and pending permit approval, Stephenson will revitalize the venue's interior/exterior and add a front window. He wants to maintain the Hermosillo Club name but possibly drop the "Club."
