No more false alarms. Tom Bergin's, the ancient Irish tavern which shuttered last summer for a facelift, is prepping for its grand reveal. Last weekend management invited in friends and family for a test run with the intent to open to the public next week (no official date set yet). An Eater reader attended the weekend's festivities and sends over the following report:
"I was fortunate to be apart of the friends and family opening night last night at Tom Bergin's. The new menu was really good. They have many Irish inspired dishes and a selection of steaks by the ounce. I enjoyed the fried cheese, and pretzel for the appetizer and the skirt steak with side veggies and the twice baked potato was awesome! Their specialty drink menu was amazing..... most are whiskey inspired, but the Irish coffee was the perfect ending to a great meal. Thank goodness the decor hasn't been changed that much, the green ceiling shamrocks survived!"According to The Facebook, TB is now making its pretzels in-house, check out a bit of food porn here.
