CULVER CITY— Father's Office honcho Sang Yoon is starting up a new dinner series on the patio of his proprietary test kitchen at Helm's Bakery titled Private Kitchen. The first family-style meal will be cooked by chef Chris Cosentino (PIGG) on May 31 at 8:30PM and feature recipes out of his new cookery book, Beginnings: My Way to Start a Meal. Dinner plus wine pairings costs $90. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— The Washington Post calls Food & Wine's "Best BBQ” list "the No. 1 Dumbest Barbecue List Ever." It calls to attention restaurants that are not yet open, such as Casey Lane's Itri. The blurb states that Itri will launch this month (June) and apparently because Lane will roast octopus on a rotisserie, this classifies the restaurant as a top barbecue haunt in the country. What?
