THE OC— Seven new restaurants just hit Orange County, reports The Orange County Register. Among them: The Sandwich Club, which recently replaced Crepes de Paris in Irvine; new vegan spot Phoney Baloney’s opened a couple of weeks ago; Wicked Wiches is yet another sandwich spot in Santa Ana; Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Bar opened in Rancho Santa Margarita; and Metropolitain, a creperie and gelato shop, opened recently in Old Towne Orange. DOWNTOWN— Urbano Pizza Bar is hosting a benefit pop-up on June 7 with Montes Wines. The Chilean wine company's "Angels in Action" campaign kicks off that night to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with a wine tasting and menu of small bites. Among the menu items: Crispy pork belly skewers with mustard, maple and lime. Tickets are $49 per person. [EaterWire]
