Six months ago John Himelstein, proprietor of popular Silver Lake Vietnamese restaurant Gingergrass, annexed an adjacent space into a small beer and snack lounge, and he promised a bakery to come. As of about a week and a half ago Gingersnap was born, serving this menu of Vietnamese baked goods and lunch particulars (house-made pastries, coffee, banh mi, summer rolls, soup, and salad) from 10AM to 2:30PM, and transitioning back to the beer lounge at 5PM. While the beer lounge only served light bites when it first launched, patrons are now able to order the full Gingergrass menu.
