Cafe Bella Roma SPQR Done For Now, Looking For Bigger Space

New, 6 comments

Lisa Amico, co-owner of Italian eatery Cafe Bella Roma SPQR with husband Roberto, drops Eater a letter explaining the restaurant's looming shutter. They've decided not rerenew their lease on Robertson and will cease operations while looking for a larger space with more parking and a beer/wine license:

"Dear Friends, After some painful deliberations, we've decided NOT to renew our lease at 1513 S. Robertson Blvd. Our last day of service will be Saturday, May 19th, 2012. This will come as a shock to many of our long-time customers, but we need to dedicate ourselves 100% in searching for a bigger, better location that will accommodate our growing needs. We are working diligently to find a new place that will offer ample parking, additional seating and will allow us to obtain a beer & wine license. We are confident that we will find something soon & will look forward to seeing you in our new space, wherever that might be. We would also love to keep you informed, so please make sure we have your email or address (or "like us" on Facebook to keep track). Our cozy, tiny little space on Robertson will be greatly missed, but it's time to grow. We'll hope you'll come along with us. Additionally, brokers & leasing agents are encouraged to contact our broker, Caitlyn Ross. Thank you so much for being with us and we hope to see many of you again before May 19th! Love, Roberto & Lisa Amico"
