MID-CITY— Big news in the world of cupcakes. Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis Berman, sisters and the girls behind uber popular Georgetown Cupcake in Washington DC, are headed to Los Angeles this fall to open their fifth location on Robertson Blvd in the defunct Lisa Kline space. The 2,600 square foot bakery will mirror the DC original with an open kitchen and espresso bar. Fun facts: Georgetown Cupcake bakes about 10,000 cupcakes per day and red velvet is the most popular flavor. [EaterWire]

HOLLYWOOD— The bar at iO West, a comedy/improv theatre on Hollywood Blvd, was recently redesigned to "reflecting the rich history of comedy legend alums whom are members of the iO family," says a release. Also, a new upstairs lounge makes room for extra seating. To drink, 25+ craft beers, 15 bourbons "all at low prices." [EaterWire]

K-TOWN— To celebrate popular OC brewery The Bruery's fourth birthday, Beer Belly will serve 12 (!) of their beers on May 16. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength. This is the beer list: Fruet (anniversary ale), Nottenroth (unsour hottenroth with kumquats), Go Team! (Eagle Rock Brewery collaboration), Loakal Red, Mischief, Gremlin (Belgian golden), Trade Winds, Carmen with Cranberries (sour brown), Cuvee Jeune (young limbic), Sans Pagaie (sour blonde with cherries), White Oak (barrel aged wheat wine blended with mischief), and Birra Basta (biere de garde with zucchini, lemon and cedar). DOWNTOWN— Grub Street reports that ramen haunt Daikokuya will be shuttered from May 14 to May 23. [Grub Street]
