It's Easy Being Green If You're Tom Bergin's Tavern

New, 11 comments

Last July, management behind Tom Bergin's decided that their Irish Tavern, opened in 1936, had seen better days. Over the past year, the bar and restaurant has been cleaned up, but not too much. New owners Brandon Boudet and Warner Ebbink (Little Dom's, Dominick's) soft re-opened last week showing off a fresh old look, an updated menu, and a new list of higher end cocktails mastered by Marcos Tello and Aidan Demarest (1886).

Lunch and dinner both center around a pubby menu where fried spicy chicken skin stands alongside an iceberg wedge salad and crispy confit pork cheeks, meanwhile a short list of cocktails is now elevated with fresh fruit juices and house-made syrups. It's clear Tom Bergin's wants to cater to its longtime regulars, while attracting in a younger set. Mission accomplished.
