AROUND TOWN—As of May 28, Coolhaus has a new ice cream sammie cart parked on the boardwalk outside Shutters hotel. And in other news, on July 21 Coolhaus will give out gratis olive oil ice cream, cookies, and Tahitian vanilla bean scoops with an olive oil topping (though not necessarily off this cart). More details to come via @coolhausny. [EaterWire]
HIGHLAND PARK— Urban Daddy checks in with the updated Hermosillo bar, now under joint custody by Dustin Lancaster of Covell and L&E Oyster Bar fame plus Ross Stephenson and Michael Blackman. Have a look inside. [Urban Daddy]
AROUND TOWN— As it now stands, Public School in Culver City, which will replace the ill-fated Fraiche, should open in September or October. The gastropub is also set to expand to DC. Meanwhile, sister restaurant the Daily Grill will likely shutter its Newport Beach location by July, and the Brentwood eatery may call it quits as well. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN— On June 3, starting at 3PM, Tony’s Saloon hosts a barbecue cheffed by Adam Cole (Lindy & Grundy) with drinks organized by sommelier Adam Vourvoulis (ink.). Cole will smoke a piggy from ReRide Ranch, served alongside pickles, biscuits, and coleslaw by the pound. Cider and brew pairings at $5-$7 and ice cream by Nitro Dreams. [EaterWire]
