MAR VISTA— Famed Tokyo tempura fryer Hannosuke has commenced service as expected inside Mitsuwa Market, reports Grub Street. On offer just two dishes. "Original" which consists of a fried seafood, veg, seaweed melange, and a similar "Edo-style" version that subs in eel for white fish. [Grub Street]
WEST HOLLYWOOD— Organizers of that new Sunset Strip farmers market, which starts selling on June 14 from 5-9PM, has added a weekly guest chef dinner to take place at the actual market adjacent to the wine/beer garden. Also slated to cook on later dates: RH EC Jorge Chicas, Mirabelle EC Michael Bryant, and BLT Steak EC Robert Liberato. [EaterWire]
MID-CITY— The long awaited follow up effort to Hatfield's, Sycamore Kitchen, is scheduled to open at the end of June. Right now proprietors Karen and Quinn Hatfield are looking to hire a few good men and women to help out, especially in the cafe/bakery area, which will serve "a wide array of freshly baked pastries and savory goods, as well as farmers' market inspired sandwiches, soups and salads."
