It has been over a year now since word broke that Eataly, Manhattan's epic artisan Italian market on steroids meets ingredient-themed mini restaurants, was set for this here city. Partner Joe Bastianich told HuffPo that Eataly could opened by the end of 2012 in LA, and while that timeline seems impossible, sources say that a location has been decided. A few months back Eater heard that Eataly would likely open around West Hollywood/Beverly Hills, here now slightly more specific information.
Jay Luchs, a bigwig real estate guy who controls many Beverly Hills and West Hollywood commercial properties, is working on the Eataly contract and says, "Not close to a deal yet we are talking to a few different landlords." But, according to inside intel a deal for Eataly at the intersection of San Vicente and Melrose is likely.
