Blue Plate Taco, that restaurant from the BP Group (Blue Plate, BP Oysterette) slowly developing on the ground floor of the newish Shore Hotel on Ocean Ave in Santa Monica, was scheduled to open on July 4. Not surprisingly, that launch as been pushed back a few weeks, and right now the restaurant is about one month away from inception.
According to Shore Hotel's website, BP Taco is a "healthy, authentic update to the classic taco stand [that] draws inspiration from the fresh, coastal cuisine found in seaside towns throughout Mexico." Ingredients will be sourced locally, all meats are organic, and tortillas and chips will be made in-house to accompany a variety of salads, tacos, and grilled seafood/meats. Supposedly BP Taco's signature plates are Lobster Truffle Tacos, plus a slew of ceviches and salsas. And good news for westside imbibers. Kiowa Bryan of Eveleigh is doing the cocktail list. BP Taco will serve lunch and dinner daily.
