Pizza pizza pizza. Who isn't doing pizza these days? The IDG guys are, and on June 26 they will soft open Soleto Trattoria & Pizza Bar in place of Patina's Zucca Ristorante which shuttered almost exactly one year ago in the Financial District downtown. Interestingly, they've brought over two-starred Delphine chef Sascha Lyon to regulate the approachable Southern Italian menu, which, thus far, incorporates tried and true classics like Meatballs Marinara al Forno, Chopt’ Italian salad, and Rigatoni Ragù. The booze program follows sorts, wine, cocktails and beer all pay homage to Italy.
Studio Collective, responsible for The Spare Room and currently working on Brent Bolthouse's Bungalow situation in Santa Monica, designed Soleto with an open floor plan, paying special attention to maintain original building details like vintage tile and wood floors. Expect exposed brick, a 360 degree bar and fireplace, an exhibition pizza bar, plus a garden patio for summer alfresco dining.
