New, 14 comments

Last night during a media tasting at Trattoria Neapolis, that grand new Calitalian concept opening next month in Pasadena, Travis Hale and Evan Dohrmann from Stumptown Coffee Roasters announced the Portland-based artisanal coffee collective's plan to open a coffee roasting facility in Los Angeles either late this year or early 2013. It's happening people, Stumptown is finally coming to LA. As for a location, Stumptown has bids out on a few spaces at the moment, but a deal has yet to be signed. And with regard to a Stumptown cafe for the hipsters in downtown's new Ace Hotel, Hale/Dohrmann revealed that originally the restaurant going into the property was designed in a way that didn't leave much room for a coffee bar, however Stumptown is still discussing this possibility with the hotel. So, Stumptown at the Ace is currently up in the air.
