HUNTINGTON BEACH— This is random. The Offspring, as in, the band, will hold an album release (Days Go By) party tomorrow from 5-7 p.m. at Chronic Tacos in Huntington Beach. A taco-eating contest is planned and competitive eating "superstar" Takeru Kobayashi will be in attendance. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Quinn and Karen Hatfield's Sycamore Kitchen is set to open on Wednesday, serving breakfast and lunch. Urban Daddy has a look inside the dark wood and brick number offering unusual AM plates like sourdough Belgian waffles with salted maple butter and oatmeal stout gingerbread loaves. And Stumptown coffee. [Urban Daddy]

CULVER CITY— 9021Pho originally had dibs on Washington Boulevard's Santa Maria Barbecue space, but that deal clearly fell through and now a new eatery called Bacaro, unrelated to the downtown haunt opened by Santos Uy, is looking to set up shop. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— Towne Food & Drink is not yet serving, however the restaurant has still managed to nab its first five-star Yelp review. Early props to the bone marrow matzo ball soup and ginger caramel Push Pops. [Yelp]
