Of course there had to be something attached to the ceiling at La Otra Taqueria Escuela, the follow-up effort to Steven Arroyo's year-old Escuela Taqueria, which opened for friends and family on Thursday, and to the public on Friday. Arroyo is taking a stronghold on the corner of Beverly and Stanley. He's got this new hang that once served as Cobras & Matadors, adjacent is his three-year-old Potato Chips, and the original Escuela sits around the corner on Stanley.
Check out chef Jared Simons' menu up above, an expanded take on Mexican eats served at Escuela, more composed plates, mostly priced under $10 with a few larger dishes costing a bit more. Do note "chewy chips" grace the menu, just like Malo in Silver Lake.

Right now the alcohol situation is BYO and La Otra Taqueria Escuela is open for lunch and dinner daily from 11 a.m. to around 11 p.m. and midnight on weekends.
