Longtime Pasadena residents, the Hollingsworth family, have taken over Eddie's Market on Michigan. They've spun its history with their own and renamed it Ginger Corner Market. The quiet re-opening happened early this month, with friends, family and neighbors. Linda, Liz and Jeff Hollingsworth now run the cafe and shop with the occasional helping hand of other family members. The cafe's menu has gained a few new dishes with each passing week. There are mostly standards here: roast beef, grilled vegetable, chicken salad. The desserts and ice cream have become especially popular; Jones coffee is available as well. On the marketplace side of things, there's lots of candy, chocolate, toys for the kids and basic dry goods. Ginger Corner Market is open now from dawn until dusk. [EaterWire]
