Towne Food & Drink, a New American Haunt Downtown

Elizabeth Daniels 7/12

Towne Food & Drink, the 7,000 square foot New American spot from Armen Shirvanian (Mi Piace), cheffed by Eric Hara (David Burke, the Plaza- NYC) and Ryan Morrison (worked with Scott Conant), opened yesterday within the WaterMarke Tower. Above, a complete tour of the Mark Zeff (Delphine, Mercato di Vetro) designed space.

The restaurant is divided into a modern red and white dining room/coffee bar (check out those macarons) softened by long white curtains, an outdoor terrace, and a loungy bar area outlined in wood-paneling, tiled off-white columns, with a brown leather ceiling. Yes, leather ceiling. Another fun design element is that the mirrors pictured in the bar area become flat screen TVs when turned on. At the moment Towne is serving Monday to Sunday from 5-11:30 p.m.
