Plate by Plate 2012 Previews New Restaurants on August 4

Fans of haute dining will be happy to hear that Project by Project's annual food gala Plate by Plate is back for its 10th year at Vibiana on August 4 from 7 to 10 p.m. As per usual, there's a rad lineup of participating restaurants, though even better this year are a bunch of preview dishes from eateries soon to open. Michael Cimarusti's Connie & Ted's, Keith Silverton/Bill Chait's Mess Hall, and Neal Fraser's Fritzi Dog will share first tastes, and Walter Manzke was supposed to serve bites from Republique, but he's apparently opening a restaurant abroad and now can't make it. Other notable participants: Black Hogg, Jar, Milo & Olive, Mo-Chica, Night + Market, Rustic Canyon, Scarpetta, Short Order, The Royce, and MORE! Oh, and Laurent Quenioux is slated to serve two forms of foie. Obviously there's booze and brews, and tix cost $150 for GA or $250 for VIP early access. If you're on the fence about attending, check out last year's soiree. [EaterWire]
