Experiencing déjà vu? So are we. This is The Colonial Wine Bar which, up until last month, operated as TiroVino and before that All'Angelo. Obviously, much of the same furniture from TiroVino is in place, barstools, tables, chairs. There's some new art work bedecking walls, banquettes were installed, new lighting fixtures, old lighting fixtures, yet a fresh FOH and BOH team are in place.
Carolyn and Mary Anne Reyes (Mandalay Restaurant, The Pearl Cocktail Lounge) partnered with sommelier David Haskell (Bin 8945, Le Cirque) to curate a Mediterranean food and wine pairing experience, and while Alex Ageneau (Bistronomics, The Royce) was supposed to serve as consulting chef, he is no longer part of the project. Instead, Pippa Calland, opening chef at Villetta, takes on executive kitchen duties.
