Bon Vivant Market in Atwater Village, open as of Friday, has charm like no other. It feels more like a country home than a restaurant, with its stone walls, plush sofas, and dangling curtains. An ideal community hub divided between share tables, two-tops, and four-tops, the restaurant, full bar, and market solves lunch and dinner dilemmas, but also serves as a place to grab salumi, prosciutto, or cheese for that next dinner party. Refrigerated cases offer the like, in addition to prepared foods such as French beans with hazelnuts, deviled eggs with anchovy, and lentil salad. As if that weren't enough, there's also a small plate a la carte menu by chef Bill Annesely. It's hard to believe that proprietor Tricia La Bell converted the Jubilee Adult Daycare Center into the above pictured. One year later, good things are worth waiting for.
