Last night Campanile GM Johann Drolshagen took to The Facebook to explain the restaurant's stance on dineLA and the reasoning behind its anti-dineLA menu. According to Drolshagen, Campanile doesn't think dineLA is bad, however it does feel that restaurant week has "begun taking more out of the restaurant community than it is contributing" and "the only ones to benefit are the marketing companies and the sponsors." Comments seem divided on the pros and cons of dineLA. Meanwhile, reps for dineLA have issued the following statement in response to Campanile:
It’s unfortunate that Campanile has decided to channel its energy into such a negative campaign. dineLA’s mission is to showcase Los Angeles as a premier dining destination, highlight the diversity of culinary experiences LA has to offer, stimulate business, and introduce new customers to restaurants located in the many neighborhoods throughout LA County. In addition to supporting our city’s culinary community, recent statistics have also shown that participation in dineLA has a strong, positive ROI for restaurants. What's your stance on dineLA?
