New, 16 comments

CULVER CITY— Lukshon, Sang Yoon writes a sarcastic letter to a Yelper who complained about not getting a particular "free dessert" on a repeat visit despite giving Lukshon a one-star review. Apparently the service staff said they had the carrot cake in the kitchen but were not able to give it to her. See the whole letter at Grubstreet. [GS]

EL MONTE— The city of El Monte has instituted a one-cent tax per beverage on sugary drinks, such as sodas. The city is fighting bankruptcy, so the tax could result in potentially $7 Million in additional revenue. Supporters of the city liken the tax to a cigarette tax. [LAist]

DOWNTOWN—There's a new Mexican beer being distributed in town called Indio. The darker beer, "a metallic Negro Modelo," that supposed to debut at La Cita Bar at 9PM. The party's sold out, but you can get the beer at Guelaguetza. Consider it the new hipster beer. [Squid Ink]
