Is Andre Guerrero's The Oinkster the west coast's version of Manhattan's Shake Shack? Maybe, with an expanded menu, minus the frozen custard. In any event, big news in the world of quality burgers and more. Andre Guerrero, the chef behind popular Eagle Rock slow food fast joint, The Oinkster, is growing his mod diner to Hollywood, into the former Sushi Hiroba on Vine near Melrose. Up and coming restaurant designers, Design, Bitches, the girls who just wrapped up Superba Snack Bar, are on board to color The Oinkster's 4,000 square foot bi-level space.
As for the menu, most of The Oinkster's popular plates will appear here in Hollywood, save for the chicken dishes since this new spot won't have a rotisserie. However, Guerrero is working on some new sandwiches. By way of alcohol, expect a small bar stocked with craft beer.
