Apollonia’s Pizzeria Soft Serving Savory Artisan Pies

Photographer and pizzaiolo Justin De Leon snagged a dingy Chinese fast food spot back in February at Wilshire near La Brea, and last Friday in its place he soft opened Apollonia’s Pizzeria. An official launch is set for this coming Saturday. Although he's still fine tuning the menu, De Leon's pizza list ranges from tried and true staples like pepperoni and margherita to chicken tequila and Mexican chorizo. He plans to add desserts from La Maison Du Pain in a few weeks, and will file for a beer and wine license in about a year. Tip: ask to try De Leon's off-the-menu special hot wings. Hours of operation 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
