Thousands of well to do food lovers sweat it out this past weekend at the second annual Los Angeles Food & Wine festival. The major events took place at LA Live's Nokia Plaza, Giada De Laurentiis hosted Thursday night's Festa Italiana, Andrew Zimmern with Eater put on Friday's Asian Night Market, meanwhile Wolfgang Puck ran Saturday night's Lexus LIVE On The Plaza with music from Third Eye Blind (yes, they're still around). All the while, other brunches, lunches, and dinners took place elsewhere around the city.

Highlights from the hot hot HOT weekend included Starry Kitchen's Nguyen Tran rocking the banana suit (as per usual), Roy Choi parking a Kogi truck right on the red carpet, 800 Degrees' Anthony Carron hauling in a massive wood-fired pizza oven to fire up his popular Neapolitan pies, and the Cosmo's boozy ice cream pops just might have saved the night. Anyone who was anyone hit the WaterMarke Tower for the After After party with even more food and drink. Champagne, mojito-flavored whip-its, Joe's Stone Crab claws, epic duck tacos, and an appearance by Christina Aguilera, dancing on tables nonetheless, rounded out the star and chef-studded weekend. For those who missed out, there's always next year. [EaterWire]
