Malibu has wineries and come mid-September construction will wrap on a Westlake Village winery, The Stonehaus. Located on site at the Westlake Village Inn, management is going for a combo coffee cafe plus wine tasting room, serving coffee and pastries by day and switching to a tasting room by night.
Owners have portioned off one acre of property to grow Cabernet, Cabernet Franc and Syrah grapes, which will be made into wine by Pacific Ridge Vineyards up north in Los Olivos. Designed by Aarons Architects of Westlake Village, the structure was modeled after Italian country houses and there's even a 15 by 30-foot waterfall. Chris Cuilty COO of the hotel says, "You can come and visit the property and feel like you're in Tuscany."
