Today the Los Angeles Unified School District will announce its decision to ban Styrofoam food trays from district-wide schools due to Styrofoam's harmful effect on the environment. The ban comes into play after Middle School students at Thomas Starr King Middle School in Los Feliz created an art project last year which showed the negative impact of Styrofoam on the environment.
