ROFL Cafe Serves Melrose, Menu by Govind Armstrong

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Take this restaurant seriously, because Govind Armstrong (Post & Beam) returns to Melrose Avenue at ROFL Cafe, a "happiness cafe" with consciously-sourced fare and Intelligentsia Coffee. Short for Republic of Laughter Cafe (not that Internet acronym, rolling on the floor laughing...), the eatery is "inspired by" the wisdom of Tony Robbins and Dr. Madan Kataria, a laughing yoga guru. Think of it as L.A.'s answer to the vegan/raw friendly Cafe Gratitude, replete with feel-good messages, only with a more varied ingredient list (meat, cheese, etc).

The familly-friendly resto is a wholesome experience sans wine or beer that's put together by Chef de Cuisine Jacob Wildman, formerly of Table 8. Think dishes like house made Liege waffles, mussels & fries, generously sized salads, Armstrong's famous short rib grilled cheese sando, as well as a selection pizzas and burgers.
