Inside Seoul Sausage's Scion Pre-Opening Party

New, 6 comments

Joining the hippest block of Sawtelle Boulevard at the intersection of Mississippi comes Seoul Sausage, probably the most portable seller of Korean barbecue in the form of sausages dressed with Korean flavors. Though originally estimated to debut over the summer, participation in the most current season of The Great Food Truck Race seemingly delayed the launch, and finally last night Seoul Sausage along with Scion hosted a sort of pre-opening soiree wherein they served their original spicy pork sausage with an apple cabbage slaw, a beef version, plus a kimchi flecked arancini, beer, and water in a box.

Seoul Sausage's first brick and mortar is small, though its high ceiling makes the eatery feel more spacious. A few tables line the street, and inside one will find a counter from which to order, a refrigerated beverage case, and a wooden bar overlooking the food prep area for standing sausage consumption. That massive colorful wall mural was painted in 13+ hours by artist John Park and is titled 'Make Sausage Not War.' As it now stands, Seoul Sausage opens to the public on October 6.
