After launching its first brick and mortar ice cream shop in Pasadena two years ago, Carmela Ice Cream, purveyor of artisan, seasonal ice cream, is expanding to West Third Street near Fairfax. Which is great because this area is underserved in the ice cream department. Here's a note disseminated this morning from Team Carmela:
Two years ago we opened the doors to our artisan creamery in Pasadena. Today we are thrilled to announce we will be opening a 2nd location in Los Angeles on West Third Street (Third & Fairfax, near The Grove). The past two years, we have thoroughly enjoyed making handmade ice cream for our wonderful customers in Pasadena. During that time we also started our ice cream classes, which have been such a fun way give back some of the knowledge we've gained over the years. We have also continued to expand our catering business and had the pleasure of serving many, many repeat catering customers this past year. We continue to sell at the farmers' markets, where we got our start 6 years ago and where we still source our seasonal ingredients.
