Las Vegas restaurateur Lee In Chun ushered in a whole new level of premium Korean BBQ with the grand opening of U2 ("You Cook, You Eat") Korean BBQ on January 17. While OO-Kook wore the crown of premium KBBQ up to 2013, U2 offers Angelenos a taste of Vegas gluttony with 37 items of meat and unlimited lobster tail, as well as Black Angus prime sirloin steaks, at the $37 per person "diamond" level. For the grand opening month, U2 is offering one cent sake through its website. Next up for Lee, whose first L.A. restaurant is Miari Noodle House, comes two more fine dining Korean restaurants in both Downtown and Caesars Palace (Vegas).
As for U2, the restaurant replaces Manna, which made a successful move to S. Alameda Street Downtown. So, U2 will now compete with the historic Chosun Galbee a block down Olympic. [EaterWire]
