City Sip Wine Bar Signs Out of Echo Park January 31

New, 12 comments

Just now Nicole Daddio, owner of City Sip in Echo Park, blasted out a note stating that despite a recent remodel, she has decided to turn off the lights at her neighborhood wine bar after January 31:

Dear Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I announce the final days of my beloved little wine bar, City Sip. An opportunity has arisen to begin a new chapter in my life. Although I am very excited to move forward, this was nonetheless a difficult and heart wrenching decision to make. I take great pride that we have managed to build our neighborhood into a unique and colorful Los Angeles destination ... While City Sip will be closed for daily operations, we will continue to host private events through February and March ... Although City Sip will come to an end, I am thrilled by the opportunities that I find before me. There will hopefully be yet another business opportunity that provides that same level of guest contact, because this above all has been my greatest pleasure - meeting friends, new and old, and sharing a great glass of wine over good conversation, laughter, and joy - the very reason that I entered into this business four years ago ... Our final evening of service at City Sip will be Thursday, January 31, 2013. In our final 10 days, I hope you will stop by and have a sip with us.
At the moment it's unclear what exactly this means for Derrick de Jesus' MSG pop-up which should have commenced last night. [EaterWire]
