Whale Week, a Celebration of Splurge Dining, Starts Now

New, 3 comments

Starting now, and ending around 6 p.m. this Friday, Eater will be celebrating the people that love spending money on food and drink in Los Angeles. It's a little something we're calling Whale Week. We'll be highlighting our city's high-rollers (or "whales" as some in the industry call them), and the places where they love to spend their cash.

At this point, you may be wondering: Why Whales? Why now? Well, for one thing, this is the time of the year when people get their year-end bonuses. Additionally, awards season is in full swing, and so there are plenty of Hollywood whales out and about. Hopefully, Eater can provide some ideas on how and where Daddy Warbucks can spend his dough.

All throughout Whale Week, there will be guides to the finest food and drink in LA, plus maps, guides, testimonials, Champagne, truffles, gold leaf, kobe beef, and oh so much more. If you have a tale of dining excess that you'd like to share with the readers of Eater, send that to the tipline. Or just settle in with some truffled popcorn and have some fun.
