The Royce at The Langham in Pasadena opened its grand doors about three years ago, shortly after Top Cheffer and head chef of (then named) The Dining Room at The Langham, Michael Voltaggio, decamped to work on his own restaurant. At that time, David Feau was hired on as Executive Chef of the completely remodeled space. The Royce enjoyed a solid run under Feau, where SIV of the Los Angeles Times gave it three stars. So it's surprising that The Langham has decided to reconceptualize its main restaurant again. The Royce will close on January 26. A new, as yet unnamed, American steakhouse concept will take over when the space reopens in late February. Chef Feau is leaving The Langham and has not yet accepted a new position.
