The Bruery Provisions — a craft beer and wine shop plus tasting room launching by OC craft brewing facility The Bruery — is set to shutter, but not before a big sale. While food service is discontinued effective today, the retail portion of the shop will remain open until January 13 selling craft beer, wine, cheese, charcuterie and other artisanal products discounted by 30% starting January 10. Members of Reserve Society and Hoarder's Society can score that discount right away. Here's a farewell note from The Bruery founder Patrick Rue, and this is part of a note that was just blasted out to newsletter subscribers:
We at The Bruery regret to announce that we will be closing the doors on Provisions, our retail shop & tasting area in Old Towne Orange. Provisions has been an important part of our company, spawned by our passion for craft beer and the opportunity to introduce others to it. Our decision to shut the doors did not come easy. However, after examining our growing business, increased production capacity, barrel aging efforts, enhanced Tasting Room, and growing membership societies, it became apparent that Provisions is not the best use of our limited resources. We believe that this change will help us focus our efforts on brewing and distributing the best and most creative beer we can possibly brew to provide our customers with the best craft beer experience they can find. But tasting efforts have not been entirely discontinued. The Bruery has its own adjacent drinking room that seats close to 100 and offers 40 beers on draft. So, while Provisions is closing, The Bruery's renovated tasting room is open. [ELA]
